Tour in the historical centre of Athens
On Sunday the 18th of March SAS organize a walk in the Historical centre of Athens. The stroll will begin from ‘‘ Kalimarmaro ’’, will pass Dionysiou Areopagitou str. and after walking on Philopappou Hill and admiring the beautiful gardens that recently planted by ‘‘ Adrián Villar Rojas ’’ for the purposes of ‘‘ The Theater of Disappearance ’’, will end, through Thisio, at ‘‘ Plaka ’’ at the traditional ‘‘ Mezedokafenio Dioskouri ’’.
During this stroll we’ll see also some ancients monuments like Temple of Olympian Zeus, Theater of Dionysus, Pnica, Stoa of Attalos, Herodeon, Ancient Agora and many others and the … perhaps well-known to everyone Acropoli !
We’ll also have the opportunity to get some knowledge about the History of ancient Athens from our SAS’ member, Professor of the University of Athens, Sofia Papaioannou !
Duration for the whole walk including stops is 3,5 h approx. and total km to be covered 6,5. It is obvious that anyone who likes to shorten his walk can … escape at any point of the route.
No hiking boots required …, no …
Meeting point is in front of ‘‘ Kallimarmaro Panathinaico Stadio ’’on Vassileos Konstantinou Avenue. If you come with your … lovely car and park somewhere there, but we wonder … where, you will meet it again after the stroll is over, by taking metro from Monastiraki and connecting with tram at Syntagma !!

Difficulty grades
Easy walks : 1,5– 2 hrs and height differences up to 100 m
Medium walks : 2 – 3 hrs and height differences up to 200 m
Hard walks : 3 – 4 hrs and height differences up to 400 m
Easy hikes : 3 – 5 hrs and height differences up to 500 m
Medium hikes : 5 – 7 hrs and height differences up to 750 m
Hard hikes : 7 hrs and up and height differences 750 m and up
Invitation : Anyone who likes to lead a future walk or hike please announce to us by e-mail referring to the place and the time he intends to take over this activity.
Deletion : Anybody who doesn’t like to receive anymore the invitations about our activities for any reason, please declare us his desire !!
