On Saturday the 10th of June at 17:00 p.m., we ’ll meet for a relax … stroll over Vraona at the south-east coastline of Attica. This walk is a mixture of seaside footpaths, dirt roads and a lovely … asphalt road !
At the beginning, there is an ascent on ‘‘ Perati ’’ hill, with a height difference of 250 meters but the view from the top is really spectacular with the coastline and Aspronisia islets like an eagle’s glimpse !! Duration of the stroll will be not more than 2,5 hours and total km covered will be six. As concerning its difficulty is considered of medium grade !
Meeting point is at ‘‘ Nisos café-bar ’’, at the edge of a rocky peninsula, where we could take an afternoon … slow-drinking coffee with superb view over the blue crystal sea and the nearby islets !
As you pass Markopoulo Mesogeas town, after 0.5 km turn left at the sign ‘‘ Vravrona’’, don’t go straight for Porto Rafti !, then after 5.9 km take the right road at the junction where signs for ‘‘ Χαμολιά ’’ and ‘‘ Οικισμός Πολυτεχνείου ’’ exist, then drive for 2.4 km ( you’ll pass the ancient and famous temple of Artemis on your left side ) to a junction where you go left, don’t turn right for ‘‘ Πόρτο Ράφτη ’’ !, then continue on the seaside road for 1.3 km and you will see the sign ‘‘ Οικισμός Πολυτεχνείου ’’ and a wide road ‘‘ Λεωφόρος Πολυτεχνείου ’’ vertical to the seashore, don’t turn right !, continue straight on for another 1 km, you’ll pass on your left a fish tavern called ‘‘ Χαμολιά ’’ which is the place we could have our dinner after the walk …!, and finally you will see the sign ‘‘ Νήσος ’’ café bar on your left. Enter the gate, there is a parking place behind the whitewashed church and some meters further down is a place that seems with a … Cycladic island, just only 40 minutes drive from Omonia square ! This is the meeting point !
It is obvious that everyone who likes to swim before the walk, has this opportunity at the … rocky beaches around the ‘‘ Nisos ’’ café.
Unexpectedly, there is also a bus line from Athens ( Platia Egyptou, Pedion Areos ) to Markopoulo and then to Vravrona, but is a long journey, maybe the same duration as the walk !

Medium walks : 2 – 3 hrs and height differences up to 200 m
Hard walks : 3 – 4 hrs and height differences up to 400 m
Easy hikes : 3 – 5 hrs and height differences up to 500 m
Medium hikes : 5 – 7 hrs and height differences up to 750 m
Hard hikes : 7 hrs and up and height differences 750 m and up
Invitation : Anyone who likes to lead a future walk or hike please announce to us by e-mail referring to the place and the time he intends to take over this activity.
Deletion : Anybody who doesn’t like to receive anymore the invitations about our activities for any reason, please declare us his desire !
